Animal Welfare Policies in regional shires do not allow much time to put the animals well being first. The rules are –
If your dog or cat is impounded, fees will be payable to the Shire before release of the animal. Any dogs impounded for more than 72 hours may be put down or re-homed.
The kill rate in the Wheatbelt area is very high as owners will often not collect their pets and there are very few shelters.
To give these animals a chance, we will build a kennel facility to house those on the kill list. Wanderosa have many network links with sanctuaries and adoption agencies to help find specialist care and loving forever homes.
